REDWOOD VISCOMETERS
(AS PER IP 70)
Description these viscometers conforms to the requirements of IP 70. This method determines the viscosity of an oil as a time of flow in seconds through Rewood Viscometer. It does not measure viscosity in the absolute units. This method is primarily intended for the determination of the viscosity of any petroleum product which flows in a Newtonian manner. Two forms of viscometer are available. The Redwood No I and No II .These instruments are suitable for use with oils having flow time, at the temperature of the test, not less than 30 secs. When flow time with No. I instruments exceeds 2000 sec. The No II instruments shall be used. The complete instrument comprises of stove hammer finished shield, stainless steel bath with electrical heating arrangements,suitable to operate on ,220 volts A.C Mains or gas heating arrangements, with tap, silver plated oil cup with precision stain less steel jet, cup cover, ball valve, thermometer clip, stirrer and M.S sheet stand with levelling screws.

It is used for the determination of viscometer of lubricating and fuel oils. The app consistsof S.S.Water bath with oil cup and its lid, manual stirrer is provided inside the bath. A thermometer socket is provided on oil cup lid. It has 500 watt heater, two jets wooden and ebonite. Operates on 220 volts AC mains.

STANDARD TAR VISCOMETER
(As per ASTM D88)
This method determines the viscosity of cutback bitumenand road oil in arbitary units using the standard tar viscometer. Two forms of the app are available differing in size of the orifice i.e. larger orifice 10mm and smaller 4mm. The cup is used at 25 deg C exceeds 50deg C sec. The mm cup is used at a temperature of 25 deg C for materials whose viscosity is less less than 15 sec. In the 10mm cup at 25 deg C. It consists of a bath with cup of 10mm/4mm orifice and sleeve, stirring, with ball lifting clip and ball. The assembly is kept on a suitable stand with leveling screws, suitable to operate on 220 volts AC mains.

This viscometer Bath is used to maintain the correct-temperature for estimating Kinematic viscosity of oil & petroleum products various Viscometers may be fixed as an integral part of the bath. The bath is rectangular in shape. Inside tank made of stainless steel. Toughened glass is provided at the front & rear for visibility inside the bath. A motorised stirrer is provided and it is supplied with Viscometer tube holders with cover.

This method is intended for the determination of the open flash point and fire point of petroleum products except when the clean and open cup is specified.
